The opportunity

We provided the steelwork and pre-cast floor units for Vodafone's new world headquarters, consisting of seven separate buildings situated on a large open campus style development with many of the buildings inter-linked by bridges to create a vibrant, friendly, village feel.

The operation

In the roof, the steelwork formed part of a unique and technologically advanced system, comprising box section rafters with pre-cast concrete roof panels.

Another characteristic element of the roof was the Brisé Soleil; we carefully fabricated the supporting arms, again to very high tolerances and finish, central to the overall effect of the finished building.

The atrium also had to be built to extremely high tolerances to enable the fitting of the ETFE roof, which in turn created a light and spacious working environment.

The result

The project set new benchmarks for high quality, both in engineering and aesthetic terms.
