The opportunity
We manufactured, supplied, delivered and erected the steel-framed structure for the construction of a new hotel in the centre of London.
The operation
The building has twelve storeys above ground level and three storeys below and is designed to take further upward extension. We supplied over 3,000 tonnes of structural steelwork and 24,000m2 of metal floor decking. Our contract also included for the supply of two tower cranes, the manufacture and installation of 190 bathroom pods and the supply and erection of steel staircases.
The result
The central spine of the building has eleven storey vierendeel girders spanning 9-metres between concrete cores supporting long span floor trusses. These girders are some of the very largest of their type in Europe.
