The opportunity

A fire at Pinewood Studios, which destroyed the famous 007 stage, presented us with the challenge of re-building the set in time to meet the tight filming deadlines for the next James Bond movie. As the contracts had already been signed for this, time was of the essence.

The operation

A 16-week programme to complete the work allowed just eight weeks for us to design and manufacture the steelwork.

Installation was further complicated by the fact that each truss weighed 26.5 tonnes and the centre of the site being taken up by a 3m deep pool used for filming water scenes.

The result

We successfully met a very demanding schedule. The original order was received just three weeks after the fire. That we started deliveries to site just 8 weeks after that, says much for our ability to work efficiently under pressure without compromising quality or safety standards.
