Reporting to the Compliance Manager, we are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team in Poole.
Working closely with the Responsible Welding Coordinator you will provide Quality Control/Assurance of fabricated steelwork in terms of dimensional inspection, weld inspection (visual and MPI) and paint dry film thickness inspection at Bourne Steel’s fabrication facility.
You will ensure all inspection quality control records are completed and maintained correctly. This will also involve raising, reporting, actioning and closing out non-conformances and where possible instigate corrective actions.
You will also maintain the calibration system, ensuring all measuring and test equipment is calibrated and records are retained.
Liaise and manage external NDT Testing companies regarding visits to the facility.
Provide support to the Production department regarding quality matters as required.
Ideally you will have a steelwork background although experience from an engineering / manufacturing industry would be considered.
Work experience in weld inspection and paint inspection is essential, coupled with a knowledge of National Structural Steelwork Specification (NSSS) 5th Edition CE Version.
You will have the ability to read detail drawings and understand the standard industry welding symbols.
Excellent communication skills, both written/oral, and have good PC skills.
CSWIP 3.0/3.1 visual weld inspection.
ICORR level 1 and 2 or NACE level 1 or 2.
