Paul Fransen joined us as a graduate and is one year into his graduate scheme.
"I'm currently in Purchasing and loving it! But then, I loved being part of the technical team, too. And I can't wait to get into Contracts because that's the sharp end of the business, where the deals are done."
Clearly, Paul is enjoying his time on the Graduate Recruitment Scheme.
"I'm like a kid in a sweet shop! See, I used to work in the precision engineering world and gave it all up to go to Uni, as I thought I wanted a change. I studied Licensed Retail Management but it was business rather than hospitality that I really enjoyed. Joining Bourne has married my engineering experience with what really motivates me, management and business."
Paul has learnt a lot being exposed to all sides of the Group's business, which has really started him thinking.
"At the end of every placement I produce a report to demonstrate my understanding but also to make observations and recommendations. My report on the re-development of the work's division obviously struck a cord as I've been asked to pursue my ideas! It's an unbelievable opportunity. But then, that's Bourne. If you push the boundaries, they open doors."
It seems Paul has a bright future within the Group. But every job has a downside. Surely something gets to Paul?
"Early mornings! I'm still use to the student lifestyle!"
